Childhood A Desire

Browse By

When we were a child,
The youth was a dream.

When we grew up,
Childhood became a desire.

When we were at home,
We wished for freedom.
Today, we have freedom,
Yet we wish to return home.

Sometimes going to a hotel,
Having a pizza or burger was love.
But today, returning home and,
Having mom’s made meal is love.

The ones with whom we used to fight in school,
Today, we search for them on social media.

Today, we know what consists of real happiness.
Today, we know what childhood was.

Hope we could change some years of our life,
Hope we could live life fully once again.

When we used to hide our hands in the shirt,
And used to tell people around,
“Look! I vanished my hand with magic”.

When we used to have a pen with four different ink,
We used to try pressing all the four buttons at once.

We used to hide behind the doors,
So that we could frighten someone coming.

When we used to close our eyes and do the drama of sleeping,
So that someone would take us on his lap,
And, send us to bed.

We used to think why the moon is walking with our cycle.

When we were a child,
We used to try fixing the wall switch in the middle.

We never ate any seed,
Thinking that a plant would grow in our stomach.

We used to celebrate our birthday,
Thinking of getting a lot of gifts.

We used to shut the fridge door slightly,
To find out when the fridge light goes off.

True!

During childhood,
We used to think why are we not getting older,
And today we think why did we grow old.

When we were a child,
The youth was a dream.

When we grew up,
Childhood became a desire.
