Mohammed Salah the wonder guy of Egypt has astonishingly signed for Liverpool FC that has taken him to the new domain of social media. Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield hierarchy stepped up their pursuit of the 25-year-old and after paying Roma’s £39million asking price, offer Salah a second crack at life in the Premier League. The Egyptian was initially wanted by the Reds in 2014, but he elected to swap Basel for Chelsea instead – only to flop at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho.
After an initial £28million bid was turned down, the Reds upped their offer and eventually got the deal over the line, handing him a five-year, £90,000-a-week contract. Klopp has been desperate to land the Basyoun-born speedster, the German having sought to add more pace and punch to his Liverpool attack. “His pace is incredible, he gives us more attacking threat and we are already strong in this area. I like that we will make it even more competitive,” the German said after his signing, “Most important though, for us, is that he is hungry, willing and eager to be even better and improve further”
But what the Liverpool fans have been asking for, is that where will the speed star play? And who will Salah replace at the pitch? The no. 9 shirt has been given to Firminho after Salah has the 11. And now it all comes to Klopp to rearrange his game plans to be successful.
As his country’s most famous footballing expert, Salah enjoys the tag of the poster boy for Egyptian football, and brings with him a gargantuan social media following, even more than Liverpool FC itself!
Salah isn’t a passer like that duo, his game based around committing defenders either by running with the ball or finding space in behind and latching onto passes. As such, he’s effectively in a battle with Firmino and Mane for a starting role when the big games roll around, but his arrival certainly places a further question mark over the head of Sturridge.
A quick, mobile, hard-working and tactical player, with good technique and an eye for goal, Salah is predominantly known for his speed, dribbling skills, first touch, and ball control, as well as his ability to utilise both his pace and flair on the ball in order to beat opponents, and create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates. A versatile forward, he primarily plays as a winger on the right flank, a position which allows him to cut onto his stronger left foot shoot on goal or play quick exchanges with other players, although he can also play in the center behind the main striker as either an attacking midfielder or second striker.
With all the pace and creators the have got, can Liverpool manage to get to the top of the table in the upcoming season? Can Klopp prove his worth? The world is waiting to watch the Egyptian in action and from the love for football we wish Mohammed Salah the best for his Liverpool Career.
